Sourcing & Process

Rooted in Tradition. Driven by Excellence.

At KA WET COFFEE PULPING PLC, we believe great coffee begins long before the roast — it starts with the land, the farmer, and a commitment to doing things the right way. From selective harvesting to meticulous processing, we take pride in every stage of the journey.

This page gives you a closer look at how our coffee is sourced, processed, and prepared for export — all with traceability, sustainability, and quality at the core.

🌱 Ethical Sourcing from Ethiopia’s Finest Regions

Our coffee is sourced from smallholder farmers across Ethiopia’s legendary growing regions, including Sidama, Yirgacheffe, and Guji. We partner directly with producers who share our values of fairness, environmental responsibility, and craftsmanship.

We ensure:

  • Fair pricing for farmers

  • Education on sustainable farming techniques

  • Long-term relationships with local cooperatives

We know where every cherry comes from — and so will you.

⚙️ Processing Techniques

Each batch of coffee is handled with precision using a variety of methods, each producing unique flavor profiles:

1. Washed (Fully Washed)

The most refined and clean-tasting method. Cherries are depulped, fermented, and washed before drying on raised beds.

Notes: Bright acidity, floral aroma, citrusy finish.

2. Natural (Sundried)

Ripe cherries are dried whole under the sun, absorbing sweetness from the fruit.

Notes: Bold body, berry notes, complex cup.

3. Honey Processed

A hybrid method where some mucilage is left on the bean during drying, creating a balanced flavor profile.

Notes: Sweet, medium body, smooth texture.

4. Anaerobic Fermentation

An innovative method where cherries ferment in sealed tanks to enhance complexity and intensity.

Notes: Winey, fruity, bold character.
